"Molding My Destiny" by Patrice M. Foster

"I didn't realize that your past really sticks with you. You don't just walk through a nice new door and step into a shining opportunity. Even if you slam the door behind you, never glimpse through the keyhole or peek under the door frame, because that little chink of light from your old life still taunts you. Worse, no one tells you that its's a swinging door and that you'll always be able to glimpse the past. Sometimes you may slip back through that door into your old ways because even though you hate that place, it's familiar and strangely comforting.".....

This is the personal story of the author, Patrice Foster. From her childhood, which began in Jamaica and onto a life in America. Neglect, abuse and abandonment. This is how Patrice turned it around after suffering some of the worst things you can imagine.

It's a story of hope for anyone who has struggled with things out of their control, especially childhood trauma. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and eventually Patrice chose that path to the light and a new life.

Well written, heartbreaking, and hopeful. I can't imagine the life she had to accept and how hard she fought to make a new one.

Thank you Patrice for telling your story.
