"And if I were you, I'd be skeptical about accepting a ride if someone does come by. Someone might drive past me and stop for you. After all, you're a young, beautiful girl walking alone down a dark, deserted road, and I won't be there to protect you if something bad happens. I'm not trying to scare you Sarah, but these are just facts. People get murdered and raped in this world every single day."...

It's Sarah Cate's twenty first birthday. What was hoped for with her boyfriend, Matt, is not what she gets. Broke down on the side of the road. Could this night be any worse?

Kevin, a Good Samaritan, saves Sarah more than once. Giving her a ride to a friends after trouble with Matt and her mother. Then there is Scotty. Dealing with things that make him feel broken. Tonight their lives are all going to intersect at a creepy "Bates Motel" kind of place.

Trying to work out their struggles, each are going to have to deal with the consequences of their actions. A page turner until the end. Character driven story line, which you don't often see. I like the depth that each of them were given. Interesting story line as well, and at times spooky. This is the third book I've read by this author. His young adult stories never fail to entertain.

Thank you Erik Therme
